We created the Ninja Cube to play with colour schemes when we're creating Design Guides and website templates. They not only show the legal values, tints and shades in a schema but also suggest priority and proportional use. Above is the Cube used for Digital Ninja's internal communications. It uses an equal balance of six bright colours, prioritizing red and blue while disallowing gradients and limiting shades.

The Digital Ninja's own palette is a unique mathematical equation which gives us a bright and fresh colour set to create with. It includes a full range of shades, tints and secondaries as well as various blacks for use in specific mediums. Behind is an early experiment with the Lab colour space. Lab, which includes all of RGB and CYMK, was an inspiration for our corporate palette having the advantage of translating flawlessly between print and screen.

Not all monitors can make the distinction but the absence of light and the blending of all colours in RGB and CYMK are two different worlds. The digital ninjas use 50Million:1 contrast ratio monitors to develop with and the cheapest monitors we can find to preview our work. This ensures our designs display as intended, not just for every format and screen size but also for the quality of the material or device on which they are viewed.

Out of hundreds of logo design projects, our work for this start-up company makes the Top 10. WhatWithWhat is an Amazon shopping bot that uncovers unlikely purchase combinations by comparing buyer habits across seemingly unrelated categories. We captured a mall shopping bag image and blended it with a connected flowchart motif - the perfect metaphor for their entire organization. As a vector with a strong corporate colour it scales to all sizes with the same low-load file and reproduces well on all backgrounds.

2014 was a banner year for this capital investment firm. A custom label was designed for twelve cases of wine - to be served at their year-end event and for corporate gifts featuring their new branding. Hidden inside one of the bottles? A Château Lafite 2000.

Cards are very much alive in business culture but, on the rise, are Personal Calling Cards. Designed now more for making first impressions than sharing your mailing address; a card's strength comes from the message in the design more than the content of the medium - putting your best face forward at work... and at play.

Fontography took a huge leap forward when Google offered an easy way for developers to deliver a huge variety of typesets with no coding experience required. Previous methods were cumbersome to say the least. However, as designers, we were still limited to what the foundries had to offer. We created Felt Tip Marker for book series with Doodle as their theme. A genuine, hand written font was required to handle the huge volume of layouts without sacrificing the human touch of a letterer.
